PRIVACY POLICY
Maryvale Computer Service recognises and respects the privacy of all our clients, suppliers and associates. We understand that your privacy and the security of the information you provide us are important to you.
This policy outlines what types of information we collect from you, how we use, handle and store that information, and the means by which you may access, update and correct errors in the information.
Non-Personal Information
Like most websites, Maryvale Computer Service collects a range of general website usage statistics, such as what types of web browser software are being used or which website pages are visited most and least frequently. None of this type of information is capable of personally identifying an individual. The data collected is used to further optimize and streamline the operation of the website itself, identify our most popular products and services, and generally provide a level of feedback to the technical and marketing departments about the success of our website and also gauge customer interest in our products.
Personal Information
Maryvale Computer Service does not collect any personal information without your consent. If you wish to purchase from us, you must create a customer account and enter your details such as email and delivery address, contact phone number, gender and date of birth. We will use these details in the processing of your orders and also to confirm your identity.
We will not disclose any personal information without your consent, except if explicitly required by law; eg in response to court issued documents, and ATO reporting obligations.
Online Fraud
Maryvale Computer Service has in place several proactive policies to reduce incidences of online fraud. In cases of attempted fraud and fraudulent transactions, we reserve the right to provide your information to other parties in direct relation to the fraud; for example the Police, the credit card company issuing a fraudulently used credit card, the bank issuing a declined cheque, debt collection agencies, our legal representation and any other party necessary to assist us to recover our loss.
Maryvale Computer Service may request additional proof of identity at any time, and reserves the right to refuse a transaction should we have any doubts as to the validity of any transaction.
Email, Newsletters, SPAM and Cookies
Maryvale Computer Service does not condone Unsolicited bulk Email (UBE/UCE/SPAM), and does not buy or sell mailing lists or participate in any venture which may result in a third party gaining the ability to contact you.
Maryvale Computer Service will communicate with you via email and telephone for the sole purpose of processing any order that you may place with us. Additionally, if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we may contact you via email with information on new products and special offers. We usually publish no more than one newsletter per month, and you can unsubscribe from this newsletter at any time via the ‘My Account’ section of the website. It is not necessary to accept our newsletter in order to do business with us.
Unlike other websites, we do not use cookies to track and remember your visits; this means that your access to our website is secure, even on inherently insecure systems such as shared computers at schools, internet café’s, libraries and the like. You must log in every time you visit our website to place an order or check on your order’s status. It is not necessary to log on if you just wish to browse.
Links to Third Parties.
Throughout our website there may be links to third party websites. Maryvale Computer Service is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.
How to access and update your personal information.
Firstly, log into your account, then go to the “My Account” area of the website. All your details can be changed from the “My Account” section.
How do we secure and protect your information?
When you create your account, you must choose a password in order to access your account in the future. The password is your primary means of protection; like any password or pin number, it should be kept secret and never written down. Your password is stored on our systems using a hash function; this means that even we cannot read your password.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
